Guelph in a sweep, Akwesasne in five game advance to Ontario Junior B Finals

The Ontario Junior B finals are now set.

The Guelph Regals swept aside the St. Catharines Jr. B Athletics in three straight games, while the Akwesasne Thunder outlasted the Kahnawake Hunters in five games.

What makes the Regals playoff run to the finals even more impressive is that they're a perfect (9-0) in the postseason.

Carter Mackay leads Guelph in every offensive category - goals with 14, assists with 30 and total points with 44.

Trysen Sunday leads Akwesasne, who is (9-2) in the playoffs, with 25 goals and 51 points, while  Tehokwirathe Barreiro is tops for the Thunder in postseason assists with 29.

Between the pipes, Guelph's Dane Dickinson is a perfect (9-0) with a 6.00 goals against average and ,865 save-percentage.

Xavier Delormier (9-2) is right there for Akwesasne sporting a 7.19 goals against average and .857 save-percentage.

Special teams, which as always could decide a series, sees the Regals powerplay clicking at 29.5 percent, and the Thunder's at 25-percent.

Penalty kill efficiency has Akwesasne killing off 78.3 percent of the power plays it faces, and Guelph 72.7-percent .The Thunder have also scored a league best 11 shorthanded goals during their playoff run.
