The Akwesasne Thunder improved to an Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior B best (5-0) with an 8-7 victory over the Kahnawake Hunters Tuesday night to open the unofficial second week of the regular season.
Five other junior B teams remain perfect entering play Wednesday evening, including the Mimico Mountaineers and Markham Ironheads (both 2-0) in the East, while the Six National Rebels (4-0), while the St. Catharines Athletics and Orangeville Northmen both sit at (3-0)
St. Catharines hosts Six Nations Thursday night in the battle of unbeatens, 8 pm from Canada Games Park.
Akwesasne's next game is Saturday at home to Brampton.
The Kahnawake Hunters host the Mimico Mountainers on Saturday as they raise the 2025 Ontario and Founders Cup banners to the rafters in a pre-game ceremony.
Ben Morton from the Guelph Regals now leads the scoring race with 10 goals and 36 points in five games played. Akwesasne's Alex Delormier leads all goal scorers with 17 tallies, while Morton's teammate in Guelph - Carter Mackay - tops the assists list with 27.
Between the pipes (for goaltenders that have appeared in more than one game) the Regals Dane Dickinson sports the best goals against average at 5.58 and save-percentage at .873.
